Protective Clothing and Footwear
All guests are required to wear the protective outer clothing, footwear and gloves provided by Sállir Reindeer. The protective equipment must be worn before entering the reindeer enclosure and whenever instructed by our guides.
This requirement helps protect our reindeer.
Protecting Our Reindeer
We take infection prevention seriously. Guests must not enter the enclosure or touch or feed the reindeer without wearing the clothing, footwear and gloves provided by us.
Please inform us before your visit if you have recently been in contact with reindeer, livestock or other farm animals, or if you have visited another farm or animal enclosure. Additional hygiene measures may be necessary to protect our herd.
Always wait for permission from your guide before approaching, touching or feeding the reindeer.
Around the Reindeer
Reindeer are living, free-moving animals, and their behaviour can sometimes be unpredictable. Please remain calm, move carefully and stay within the areas indicated by your guide.
Do not chase, frighten or approach the reindeer without guidance. Following the instructions of our family helps create a safe and positive meeting for both guests and animals.
Children must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult throughout the experience.
Inside the lávvu
There is an open fire inside the lávvu. Please keep a safe distance from the fire. Children must always be supervised by a responsible adult.
Smoke is a natural part of gathering around an open fire, and clothing and personal belongings may smell of smoke afterwards.
Clothing and Personal Belongings
Although protective clothing and footwear are provided, your personal clothing and belongings may become dirty, smell of smoke or, in rare cases, be damaged.
We recommend leaving valuable or delicate items at home and keeping your belongings secure throughout the visit. Sállir Reindeer AS is not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings unless caused by negligence on our part.
